The purpose of this Moon Princess slot review is to give you an honest, in-depth and impartial look at what the game’s all about, and what you can expect when playing it for yourself. To kick things off, I’m going to show you how to actually play Moon Princess. Later on, we’ll cover topics like the bonuses and features and the software used.

Moon Princess is one of Play’n Go’s most successful slot releases to date, and – speaking from personal experience – it’s also one of their most entertaining. This Anime-inspired video slot uses Play’n Go’s classic grid-like format, ensuring there’s plenty of chances to form wins, and it offers a very different playing experience than we’re used to seeing in conventional video slots.

You can play Moon Princess on mobile or desktop at any of the top rated slots sites listed above. From the moment you first load up the game you’ll notice that there’s a girl on the right-hand-side of the reels – in a very revealing outfit, I must say. More on that latter – as the girl who appears determines which reel modifier is currently active.

When it comes to stake options, you’ll find that you’re able to play Moon Princess slot from as little as 0.20 credits per spin, and high-rollers can wager as much as 100 credits per spin – there’s plenty of room here for players on all different types of budgets.

Due to the fact that Moon Princess is a grid-format game there aren’t conventional paylines. Instead, wins are formed by matching three, four or five symbols on any line in view. I should also point out that it’s possible to form wins using any combination of the girls – but again, more on that a bit later.

How To Play

One of the things I like most about Play’n Go’s slots is that they’re incredibly easy to play. You don’t need to figure out complex coin values – as is so often the case with game developers – and you simply need to begin by selecting the stake option you want (at the bottom of the screen) and you’re all set. Your balance is displayed in the bottom left-hand-corner of the screen, regardless of whether you’re playing on a desktop or mobile device.

To actually begin spinning, you simply need to hit the giant green “Spin” button. Doing so will play out the game. There’s a couple of additional features worth pointing out, and the first is the autoplay function. This allows you to set up to 100 spins to play out automatically (1,000 if you’re outside the UK), and this is a great function as it saves you from having to manually click every time you want to spin the reels.

There’s also a lightning bolt in the bottom left-hand-corner of the screen. Clicking on this toggles the quick-spin mode on or off, allowing for faster gameplay and less time between rounds.

Symbols and Payouts

Like virtually every slot machine on the planet, Moon Princess utilises a combination of low and higher-paying symbols. The low ones are all represented by a variety of trinkets, including a golden-green charm, a moon star, a heart, and a winged bell. None of these pay particularly well (during the base-game at least; during the bonus round, well, that’s a different matter.)

You’ll also find three high-value symbols on the reels, which are three different girls. These all offer payouts worth up to 10X your stake for lining up a 5-of-a-kind combo – and while that may not sound amazing, again, during the bonus round these payouts are increased thanks to a multiplier.

The final symbol I want to point out to you is the wild symbol. This is a very important symbol – and it plays a core role in the game’s overall mechanic. I’ll cover how these wilds are formed in the following section of this Moon Princess review.

Bonus Features

In all honesty, there’s a huge amount going on in Moon Princess, and it can actually be quite daunting at first. However, once you get the hang of the slot and how it all works it makes a lot more sense – but I recommend you give the game a try in demo play before using any real money, as doing so will enable you to get a feel for how the slot works. Below, I’m going to talk about the various bonuses and features you’ll find.

Features on Moon Princess slot

Wild Creation

Whenever you form a win (using three symbols) a wild symbol will be left in the middle of the three symbols. This is a very cool and unique feature – and it makes it much easier to trigger more wins and eventually the Trinity or Free Spins feature, which I’ll cover below.

At this point, I also want to point out that there are three Girl Power features, all of which can trigger randomly during the base-game. The feature that’s triggered is dependant on which girl appears on the right-hand-side of the reels, and the three features are shown below:

  1. Love: transforms one set of symbols into another type of symbol.
  2. Star: adds one or two extra wilds symbols to the grid.
  3. Storm: removes two sets of symbols from the grid.

Trinity Feature

Every time you form a win with one of the girl symbols, the metre to the left-hand-side of the reels fills one notch. (A 3-of-a-kind wins fills the metre by one, a 4-of-a-kind win by two notches and a 5-of-a-kind win fills it up entirely.)

Once it’s filled up completely you’ll trigger the Princess Trinity bonus, and this awards you with one free spin. This spin gives you all of the three features I just showed you above, and your goal is to try and clear the grid of all symbols (bar the wilds.) Do so, and you’ll trigger the main free-spins bonus round.

Free Spins

The free-spins bonus round is triggered by clearing the grid during the Princess Trinity bonus, or during the base-game (although the latter is incredibly rare.) You will then get to choose from three different free-spins options; Love, Star and Storm. These award 4, 5 and 8 free-spins respectively.

Depending on the free-spins option you choose, the princess feature will activate on any non-winning spin, and there’s also an increasing multiplier that comes into play here too. This increases by 1X with each win, and while it caps out at 20X it does stick, so there’s some massive win-potential on offer here, with a 5-of-a-kind of the girls paying a cool 200X your stake while on a 20X multiplier!

Jackpot and How To Win

Like most of Play’n Go’s slots, Moon Princess has a maximum win cap of 5,000X your stake. However, unlike some of the game developer’s other slots – Book of Dead being a good example – I feel that it’s much easier to unlock the win-potential on Moon Princess. I, myself, have had countless 500X+ bonuses while playing the slot, and while I think it’s very unlikely you’ll see wins of more than 1,000X or so, those 500X wins are possible – and happen fairly regularly, from what I’ve seen from playing the game myself!

Big Win on Moon Princess slot game

Of course, on the flip-side Moon Princess slot is very volatile. This means you can expect to see quite long periods during the base-game without any wins – and it’s even possible to go a few hundred spins without triggering the Princess Trinity feature let alone the main free-spins bonus. Because of this, I’d recommend you play this game at a slightly lower stake than you would other games.

Software

Moon Princess slot logo Play’n Go are easily one of the market leaders when it comes to mobile gaming and I find Moon Princess slot is one of the best games to play from a mobile device thanks to its intuitive design and ease of use.

The bet selection tool can be a tiny bit fiddly, but once you get the hang of it it’s fairly self-explanatory, and I really like how the green spin button takes centre stage here; way too many game developers put it to the right-hand-side of the screen, and this virtually forces you into playing in landscape mode from our mobile devices.

Desktop users will enjoy a great experience too – and while Moon Princess slot doesn’t offer you the chance to change the quality of the graphics, from my experience it’s always run fast and lag-free from both desktop and mobile devices.

Summary

While the entire mechanic behind Moon Princess can take some getting used to, once you get to grips with how it all works you won’t find yourself running into any issues while playing. The game’s incredibly well-made and renders well on all devices – phones and tablets included – and the speed at which the game plays out ensures you can get plenty of action in a relatively short space of time.

Compare the Best Mobile Slots Apps

As I mentioned earlier, Moon Princess slot is very volatile, so this is definitely something to be aware of – but don’t let it put you off playing by any means. It’s a great game that offers some fantastic win-potential, and I highly recommend it if you like Play’n Go or simply want to try something a bit different!
