Cash Bandits 3 is a video slot from Realtime Gaming that was first released in 2020, and already, it’s become one of the software provider’s most popular video slots. In this Cash Bandits 3 review, I’m going to be giving you my honest and impartial opinion on the slot.

I’ll cover everything, from how to play the slot, to looking at the game’s bonuses and features, how to win the jackpot and more!

As you can probably tell from the name, Cash Bandits 3 is based around a Cops N Robbers theme, and like all of the software provider’s slots, it looks great; the graphics are clear and crisp, and gameplay is smooth, regardless of which device you’re playing from.

The slot is built around a 5-reel, 3-row format, and it has a default RTP of around 96%; I say around, because Realtime Gaming does offer all of their games in varying RTP settings, so online casinos can actually choose which RTP they’d like to offer their players.

Let’s kick off this review with a look at how to actually play Cash Bandits 3.

How To Play

Despite being a brand-new slot from Realtime Gaming, Cash Bandits 3 actually uses one of the game developer’s older layouts – but it’s well-presented and I found the user-interface really easy-to-use and easy-to-navigate.

At the bottom of the screen you’ll see a big green button, and this acts as the game’s main spin button. To the right-hand-side of this button there’s also a blue autoplay button which allows you to set up to 500 spins to play-out automatically.

Selecting your bet amount is easy, and you simply need to adjust the “Bet per line” which is found on the left-hand-side of the screen, and you’ll then notice that your total bet changes. Like most of the game developer’s slots, Cash Bandits 3 also allows you to adjust the number of paylines active, so you can play from as little as 1, to as many as 25 paylines on a single spin!

Symbols and Payouts

According to Realtime Gaming themselves, Cash Bandits 3 has a hit frequency of around 20%. This means that you can expect to hit a winning spin roughly one in five spins. It’s also ranked as 8/10 on the software provider’s own volatility scale, although, as I’ll point out later in this Cash Bandits 3 review, I do feel as though the game plays more like a medium variance slots, as – in my experience – hits do appear to happen a bit more frequently than the developer advertises.

When it comes to the game’s symbols, you won’t find any playing card values, including 10, jack, queen, king, and ace here; instead, Realtime Gaming has opted to use theme-specific imagery for all aspects of the game, and you’ll see Police Badges, Police Cars, Donuts, Wads of Money and Handcuffs – all of which can produce some healthy-sized wins.

There’s also a Robber Wild symbol on the screen, which, naturally, acts as the game’s wild symbol and substitutes for all other symbols bar the scatter symbols, which are represented by the golden “SCATTER”. This scatter is key to triggering the main free-spins bonus, details of which I’ll cover in the next section of this Cash Bandits 3 review.

Bonus Features

Cash Bandits 3 comes with a couple of bonuses and features built in – and both of these bonuses and features are capable of paying pretty well. Below, I’m going to walk you through how both of the bonuses and features work, and what you can expect when triggering them for yourself.

Robber Wild

The Robber Wild is a small reel modifier that’s active during both the base-game and the free-spins bonus (details of which I’ll cover in the section below). Occasionally, when the Robber Wild symbol lands in view, you’ll notice an animation begin to play out – and this sees the robber run across the screen. A number of wild symbols will then be added to the reels, increasing your chances of forming a win and making it easier to make 5-of-a-kind combos.

Free Spins

Arguably the biggest attraction of playing Cash Bandits 3 is the free-spins bonus round which is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Once you manage to do so you’ll be taken to a cool little “Vault” mini game, where you’re tasked with picking numbers on a safe. This will determine the number of free spins you’re awarded and the win multiplier that will be present during the bonus – and it’s possible to begin the feature with as many as 390 free spins!

It’s also possible for the win multiplier to start as high as 23X – and this multiplier is then applied to any and all wins you manage to form during the bonus round. Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to re-trigger the free-spins feature, but from my experience, it’s fairly common to begin with upwards of 30 free spins – and, if you manage to secure a high enough multiplier, it’s more than possible to end up walking away with some mega wins, especially if luck’s on your side!

Jackpot and How To Win

With up to 115,000X your stake available to be won while playing Cash Bandits 3, I think it’s more than fair to say this is one of Realtime Gaming’s best slots when it comes to win-potential. I think the reason why the software provider has decided to offer so much win-potential is clear; hit games, like Dead or Alive II from NetEnt and Money Train 2 from Relax Gaming offer you the chance to win tens of thousands of times your stake…

And I’m noticing that players are actively beginning to look for this level of win-potential in slots they play. Realtime Gaming are likely trying to cash-in on this sector of the market for themselves, and what I really like is that, despite offering all of this win-potential, Cash Bandits 3 doesn’t actually feel too volatile.

In order to win the maximum win in Cash Bandits 3, you’ll need to be playing at the maximum stake, and you’ll then need to hit the top multiplier of 23X during the bonus round.

Software

cash bandits 3 slot logo A few years ago my comments regarding Realtime Gaming’s slots would have been very different than they are today; their games used to be notoriously slow and laggy on mobile devices, and they also used to be quite hard to actually play on mobile devices. This was large-in-part due to the fact that most of their games simply weren’t mobile-optimized – and they relied on Flash-based technology as opposed to HTML5.

Thankfully, today, this has largely changed, and Realtime Gaming’s new games are all now developed in HTML5. Not only does this offer a smoother, crisper gameplay experience on desktop, it also makes mobile gameplay far easier – and you don’t need to download or install any pieces of software or install apps in order to begin playing.

While writing this Cash Bandits 3 slot review, I also spent quite a bit of time actually testing out the game. In round 500 spins, the game didn’t crash on me once – and while a few spins did take a bit longer than I’d have expected them to, on the whole, I walked away with a largely positive opinion, and I think the software provider have done a really good job in actually developing the slot.

Summary

As a fairly avid fan of Realtime Gaming slots, I’m always on the lookout for new releases from them that are worth playing and offer a decent playing experience. In my opinion, Cash Bandits 3 is a really well-made slot, and I feel that the gameplay offers something quite special – something which we don’t see in many video slots released today, especially given the abundance of high-variance machines we’ve become somewhat used to seeing.

Naturally, Cash Bandits 3 offers up some great-looking graphics, smooth animations and a pretty reliable gameplay experience, but what really does it for me is the fairly staggering maximum win-potential of 115,000X your stake. Of course, while it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever see players hitting anywhere close to this kind of win, it is pretty refreshing to see the game offering up so much win-potential – and it means that those players who are going in search of big hits can feel at home while playing Cash Bandits 3.

Perhaps the only thing I should point out about playing Cash Bandits 3 is that it can take quite a long time to trigger the main bonus round – so if you are going to give it a go for yourself, I strongly recommend setting the slot off for a few hundred spins, and grinding it out before you give up. If you can hit the free-spins bonus round, you could end up walking away with some pretty significant-sized hits!
