However, you’re also betting on a specific team winning – so the result at half time matters no – the result at the end of the match is what really matters. The first thing you should know about placing a BTTS bet is that the odds, at first, won’t look great; in fact, the odds are usually worse than the odds you’d find on straight-up match betting. One thing I should point out; the BTTS market only covers the first 90 minutes of a game. For this reason (and it’s the same with most betting markets), goals scored in extra time – or during penalty shootouts – won’t count.
Similarly, if you’re looking for betting tips surrounding BTTS bets, just remember that high scoring teams will usually see shorter odds – that means, lower odds. In other words… the more likely a team is to score a goal, the lower the odds will be.
As I mentioned earlier, I’d also strongly recommend you look around for the best odds. While BTTS odds are often 1/1 – or worse – when you begin combining these odds together, your potential payouts from matches can really start to add up.
If you want to improve the odds even more within the football match or matches you’re betting on, then you may also want to include some of the other BTTS markets we covered. This will increase your potential payouts even more – and, if you get really technical, you can even try and predict the correct scores.
