32red Casino Review

There was a time, quite a few years ago now, when 32red Casino was fairly decent. Sadly that’s no longer the case in 2023.

In this 32red casino review, I’ll explain what went wrong, and why we (and any other reputable independent betting site) would recommend you avoid playing at 32red from now on.

Key Features

32red used to be a decent enough online casino, although their mobile product was never the best.

However, that all changed in 2017 when they were taken over by the dreaded Kindred Group. Yes, they’re the same group that own sites like Unibet, and if you’ve read our review of them you’ll know they’re another online betting brand to avoid.

Kindred’s takeover of 32red signalled the beginning of the end in terms of customer experience. Sadly, they’ve gone from being a once decent brand to one I wouldn’t consider recommending, much less playing at myself.

Sadly this is a fairly common scenario in the online betting world. Small brands gain a good customer base because they offer a good product and service. Then they get bought out by bigger but less reputable companies, who start to put profits over service, and the customer is always the one that suffers.

So we need to judge 32red casino on the service they offer now, not what they did in the past.

Website / App Design & Ease Of Use

You can play at 32red casino on instant play via their mobile website, or you can choose to download the Android app, or their iPhone app.

32red app Curiously, they don’t provide any download links on their website, so you’d have to go and search on Google Play or on the App Store if you want to download and install those.

Obviously, I’d advise against it. So would a lot of other users if you read some of the reviews on there. It looks like the apps are providing a very poor experience.

Our team had many of the same problems during our tests. It was very hard to log into the Android app, and when you did it often logged you out again for no apparent reason. On the rare occasions we were able to stay logged in, it ran very slowly and took an absolute age to start any games. I can see most users getting frustrated with this very quickly.

The mobile website was a little better, so you could actually play games through your phone’s browser. The responsive display was poor though, and a little cluttered. I didn’t get a very good experience here either, but at least it worked.

Software

32red casino uses Microgaming and Big Time Gaming. This does give access to a few popular slots such as Starburst, Rainbow Riches and Mega Moolah.

Choice of Games

slots

As I mentioned above, the choice of games is not one of the things I can criticise at 32red. It’s actually fairly good. There are plenty of slots on offer and they tend to keep the site fairly well updated with the latest releases.

They also have all the usual table games. There are plenty of varieties of blackjack, and you’ll also find a live dealer casino.

So the game selection isn’t the problem. The reputation, trustworthiness and customer service of Kindred is though.

Banking – Deposit/Withdrawal Options

Deposits & Withdrawals It’s quite hard to find out about the supported payment methods at 32red casino, because unlike most other online casinos they don’t publish a list of the methods they accept.

The only way to find out is to log into your account and try to actually make your first deposit. Only then will you know whether your chosen payment method is accepted. It’s weird – and that is not the time to discover that your preferred method isn’t available.

For example you can use PayPal but only if you’re in the UK or Ireland. The site says you can use Skrill and Neteller but there’s no knowing what restrictions are in place on those.

Another thing to point out is that withdrawal times are much longer then average. It takes them a full day to even start to process your withdrawal and then after that it can be another 5 working days for some methods.

Safety and Security

security

32red are licensed in Gibraltar and also by the UKGC. Everything was fine with their licenses before Kindred took over. But then it took just over a year for an investigation to find that they’d breached their license conditions.

The Commission undertook an investigation into 32Red as it was found that there were weaknesses in its responsible gambling and anti-money laundering controls, which meant that licence conditions were breached.

That lead to a £2 Million fine being imposed by the UKGC.

Hands up who’s surprised?

As my colleagues and I always say, we take a very dim view of any company who doesn’t take money laundering seriously, because failure to do so can help fund organised crime. Likewise, betting sites who don’t properly care for vulnerable people have no place in the industry, in my opinion.

Just another reason why any Kindred brand should be avoided at all costs.

Customer Service/Support

support

The customer support at 32red casino is dreadful.

Have you ever contacted a support team who just clearly don’t care at all about you or anyone else? Who seem to go out of their way to be unhelpful.

Do you like it when they don’t bother to read your question, and simply copy and paste something from the FAQ which has nothing to do with what you asked?

If these things annoy you, I suggest you don’t contact 32red customer service. It’s not good for the blood pressure!

Allowed Countries

Players from the UK, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand can all open accounts at 32red.

But remember, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should!

Summary

I used to quite like 32red when they were independently owned, but I certainly don’t feel that way any more.

Their mobile apps are rubbish. The website is slightly better, but still nowhere near as good as some of their competitors. But the real reason why you should avoid them is that they are owned by Kindred, who have a horrible reputation with players.

Their massive UKGC fine is just one example of poor business practices and bad customer service. Don’t reward this type of behaviour with your custom. You’re worth more than that.
